Tarka EMS, is made up of two teams. Parish Ambulance Service is run by Helen Freeman, and SWFAST is run by Frank Bath. It was decided to merge both teams into one in 2025 for logistical and financial reasons, and the rest is history. Both Helen and Frank have a long history of providing cover at events. Training is run by our dedicated team led by Frank as our Nurse and Clinical Lead, Helen, who also manages event bookings and general day-to-day running, as well as our 2 FREC 4's, Shannon and Will.
Will has worked as an Advanced Ambulance Tech, and Shannon, who has worked alongside Frank since 2015 as his Safeguarding officer and now as assistant to the Clinical Lead.
We cover small to medium events, such as small village fairs to equestrian events, Mayfairs to motorsport and everything in between. We adhere to any current guidelines set out by the government report into the Manchester arena bombing (Kerslake Report), as well as the Purple Guide produced by HSE for event organisers.
Two of our members also have additional training as Community First Responders with the ambulance service.
